Cantorion Pontyclun first established itself as a mixed choir in 1977 and had an excellent record of achievement over a long period of time raising thousands of pounds for numerous charities at home and abroad.

The choir also won prizes at numerous Eisteddfodau and performed in concerts at the Royal Albert Hall and Wales’ own St. David’s Hall. Due to the falling numbers of male singers, the choir had little choice but to continue as a ladies choir and so Cantorion Ladies Choir was formed in September 2002.

The Choir has performed in a variety of venues including an audience at the Wales Millennium Centre and will be performing at the St. David’s Hall in Cardiff next year. The choir's main function has been to raise funds for charities including amongst others, Kidney Research, The Brain Injury Trust, The British Heart Foundation, and Epilepsy Wales.

The highlight of 2008 was the successful tour to Bratislava and Vienna where the choir sang at the mid-day Mass at St. Stephens Cathedral. The main aim of the choir continues to be supporting charities both home and abroad but the choir delights in performing for social events for special occasions including weddings and corporate functions. Under the baton of the musical Director Luke Spencer, the choir is going from strength to strength offering a wide selection of music.

The choir is available for function bookings including weddings and other occasions throughout south Wales and beyond. Please take a look at what people think of our choir!
