“Being a member of the choir is being among friendly, happy people with different interests.”

Being part of Cantorion Pontyclun Ladies Choir is hugely rewarding for our members both musically and socially.  No previous experience of singing in choirs is necessary and you don’t need to read music.

There is the opportunity to learn and regularly perform a wonderfully diverse portfolio of choral music  including pop, welsh, sacred, spiritual and musicals  to appreciative audiences. Our Musical Director (MD) also welcomes any suggestions for pieces. Your singing technique will improve and occasionally we throw in some ‘moves’!  You will enjoy being part of a sociable and supportive group of like-minded ladies.

There is a subscription cost to belong to the choir, which is currently £10 a month. New members are welcome to join at any time. There is no audition as such, but our MD may undertake a voice test to ensure you are singing comfortably within the right section made up of Sopranos, 2nd Sopranos and Altos.

When: Tuesday evenings
Where: Cafe 50, Pontyclun Community Centre, Heol Yr Orsaf, Pontyclun, CF72 9TY.
Time: 7.30pm – 9:30pm with a short break for refreshments

We generally take a two week break for Christmas and at summer depending on concert bookings and commitments.

What our members say:

“Choir is a relaxing thing to do at the end of the day.”

“I enjoy the choir, have only been coming 8 months and love the singing, concerts and all the great people involved.”

“After almost 30 years with this choir, I still enjoy the singing, the concerts & most of all the lovely people!!”

“As an older member of the choir, besides singing, I like mixing with younger people.”

“You can come to choir feeling perhaps a bit low but within minutes of being amongst lovely people and singing, it certainly lifts the spirits and you go home with a spring in your step!”

I have been in the choir for nearly 30 years and still enjoy singing and chatting with all the members, all lovely people.”

“30 years a member-still holds the same magic for me as when I joined. Lots of changes, new people but still the same friendly and caring choir. Has helped me through many difficult times”
